Parents Deserve Peace of Mind Too!

Financial-Counselor-Chicago-Eric-Vicens

You are not alone!

Hi! My name is Eric Vicens.

As a certified financial therapist and clinical social worker with 15+ years of experience in mental health, I offer competency and passion in both finances and mental health. It is my mission and passion to help parents break cycles, build secure futures, and enjoy the present with their families.

Man… can we agree that parenting is hard enough without the added burden of mental health and money? No one should have to choose between their mental health, relationships, or providing for their family. It’s not right. Parents deserve peace of mind too!

As the father to twins and triplets, a son responsible for the finances of a parent, and being the sole financial provider for my family, I understand the weight and pressure of making sound financial decisions. I’ve experienced how it can complicate and strain relationships.

I want you to know, it is possible to feel emotionally and financially secure. There is a safe place in financial therapy where you can learn and talk about your mental health and finances together, not separately.

You don’t have to do it alone.

I Can Help You :

  • As you learn to navigate conversations about money and emotions, you’ll find that your relationships become more open and supportive. Financial therapy helps improve communication where everyone feels heard and valued, leading to stronger, more lasting bonds.

  • Imagine having a clear plan for your finances and mental health, which brings a sense of stability and peace of mind. With our guidance, you'll learn tools to ground your emotions and financial strategies to prepare you for life’s ups and downs. Financial security, freedom, and independence is possible.

  • Find practical ways to simplify how you handle both finances and emotions, helping you avoid costly mistakes and reduce the time spent stressing or second-guessing. This clarity frees you up to focus on what truly matters in your life.

  • It’s easy to mistake false confidence for true understanding, which can lead to choices that don’t really serve you or your family well. Together, we work to build authentic confidence—empowering you to make thoughtful, informed financial decisions that align with your values.

  • Gaining clarity on your financial situation and the tools to manage it can be incredibly liberating and help you through financial stress. Our approach helps you understand money management in a way that feels real and relevant to your life, so you can make choices that fit your goals.

  • Sometimes, it’s hard to see how your financial and emotional challenges are connected or how they impact your motivation. Through guided conversations, you’ll gain insight into these connections, uncovering what truly drives you so you can take meaningful steps forward at your own pace.
